not original, not convincing and altogether not great but i am learning...

im currently in arizona and cant escape the desire to draw rocks. what i can control, however, is my terrible use of contrast and edge control. blah. upside, this took about 20 minutes.

unfortunately, it has become obvious to me that there are glaring gaps in my education. this image has been an attempt to clearly identify a number of them.
i have a severe deficiency in my color theory and rapid visualization. a clear understanding of scale, proportion and perspective are also problems.

i will ponder these issues and begin tackling them accordingly.
